Herschend is a member of the Missouri State Board of Education, member of the  International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, committee member of the Travel Industry Association
of America, trustee for Gordon College and a top fundraiser for the
MS-150.

Herschend is a founding member of the Upper White River Basin Foundation.
